This is the most common eye disease in the elderly, said Dr. Rumen Mutavchiev, Head of Ophthalmology Department of the University Hospital of Bourgas.
So in the summer the patients here are not reduced. Cataract is treated only with an operation that has already outpatient procedure, so said passes as day surgery and the patient does not need to lie in the hospital.
The operation lasted ten minutes with its natural lens is removed with ultrasound, and in its place put artificial. There is a local anesthetic, with drops.
