Last summer, 104 charter airplanes with Russian tourists were seized in Turkey, compared to 470 this year, said Ivan Ivanov, chairman of the Bourgas Regional Tourism Chamber.
In 2016 Turkey was visited by 2.8 million Russian citizens. It is expected to be between 4.5 and 5 million this year.
The big discounts offered by Turkish hoteliers were between 40% and 50% of the price of the package and they are borne by the state budget.
