U.S. Senators John McCain, Christopher Murphy and Ron Johnson will visit Bulgaria this weekend as part of their trip to Eastern Europe that will include stops in Poland and Romania.

 During their visit the Senators will meet with government officials to discuss the strong bilateral relations between the Unites States and Bulgaria, the situation in Ukraine and NATO’s response, as well as rule of law and energy security issues. 

Senator John McCain (Republican – Arizona) is a Member and former Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Armed Services; Member and former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs; Member of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.  He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Arizona in 1982 and elected to the United States Senate in 1986.  Senator McCain was the Republican Party’s nominee for president in the 2008 election.  

Senator Christopher Murphy (Democrat – Connecticut) is a Member of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee; Member of the Foreign Relations Committee; and Member of the Joint Economic Committee.  Senator Murphy was elected in 2012. 

Senator Ron Johnson (Republican – Wisconsin) is a Member of the Committee on the Budget; Member of the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation; Member of the Committee on Foreign Relations; Member of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Member of the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.  Senator Johnson was elected in 2010.
