The medieval Jewish cemetery near Karnobat can become one of the most popular
tourist attractions in the region. Investment interest has the organization "Preservation and protection of Jewish cemeteries", funded by the German Foreign Ministry.
Unique Jewish cemetery near Karnobat is among the most important and the largest medieval necropolis of the Balkan Peninsula. Over an area of about 50 acres have been preserved nearly 1,000 gravestones of marble and stone, each of which carries its "etched" story. It is known that here are the earliest sefarates graves on the Balkans.
