Municipality of Burgas received a prize for innovation in education during the national competition "Mayor of the Year 2018".
The ceremony was held yesterday in the National Palace of Culture. On behalf of Mayor Dimitar Nikolov the prize was accepted by his deputy for culture and education Yordanka Ananieva.
Several new educational establishments opened in Burgas this year. Among them is the branch of the National Academy of Arts, where students in several specialties are trained. The newest high school is located in Magazia 1 in the free access area of the port and provides excellent conditions for conducting the learning process.
This year, its first graduates also accepted the new Vocational School of Computer Programming and Innovation. Students are trained in the "Software" and "Applied Programming" specialties. At the insistence of Mayor Dimitar Nikolov the school will be included in the program for bilateral cooperation between educational institutions in Bulgaria and Finland.
Among the newly established educational establishments in the seaside town is the Pinocchio Kindergarten, where children are educated and educated in a Scandinavian model.
The Mayor of the Year 2018 Award ceremony was attended by EU Commissioner for Digital Economy, Maria Gabriel, Minister of State Nikolina Angelkova, representatives of parliament, government, public organizations and business.
