A new initiative of the Bourgas museum enables the patriotic help the restoration of valuable Renaissance icons from the collection of the Regional Historical Museum Bourgas (Bourgas RIM).
20 number of icons need a restoration, as for 3 of them it is an emergency. These three works of Orthodox art were handed over to the museum in 1995 and 1998 after shares of the Bourgas police.
Two icons represent icon-painting of the Tryavna Bulgarian Revival (beginning-middle of XIX c.), and the third is a rare form of iconographic art of the South Black Sea coast.
For the restoration of one icon takes between 500 and 1000 Lev depending on its size.
