Turkish poachers absorb most of turbot in the Black Sea.
This will be one of the causes of our country, to stop the new cuts in the quota for turbot, which the European Commission is preparing for Bulgaria and Romania. This will happen on 15 and 16 December at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries in Brussels. The proposal provides for Bulgaria and Romania to cut again their quantities of catches of halibut, from a total of 86.4 tons of them reduced to 73.44 tons.
Commission proposes that the amount to be distributed equally between the two countries. This means that if the Council no changes, Bulgarian fishermen will be able to rely on the capture, which should not exceed 36.72 tons. Bulgaria will insist on keeping the level of the quota for turbot.
