A digital mammography and four apparatus for use in urology and gynecology expected in Bourgas hospital.
The Center for early diagnosis of cancer in Bourgas hospital will be assembling with endoscopic equipment that will be used to perform bloodless urological and gynecological operations. These include ultrasonic apparatus for urology, endoscopic system for urological and gynecological use, video system and automatic biopsy instrument for soft tissue biopsy.
In the imaging will be installed digital mammography, which is used for screening and diagnosis of cancer of the mammary glands. This will be the only digital mammography throughout the Bourgas region. Unlike the conventional mammography, the digital is more harmless, because it has a low-dose ionizing radiation. Through it can detect very small pathological findings that can not be detected with regular mammography.
