After more than 40 years of waiting, the Bourgas hospital will get a new Department of Haematology (known more as Blood center).
The procedure for its construction is already underway. Funding is provided by the Ministry of Health and it is announced a tender to select a contractor. Bids will be accepted until August 20th this year and the construction is expected to begin in the autumn.
The new unit will be located in an existing building of the hospital, which will be overhauled. It is located on the rear of the new Infectious Disease.
On the first floor there is a waiting room for blood donors, rooms for medical research, four blood donation office, room for recovery of donors, doctors' offices.
On the second floor there is an immunity haematological laboratory, where will be diagnosis blood group, antibodies and compatibility tests.
The funds for reconstruction are provided from the budget for capital expenditure of the Ministry of Health - 600 000 Lev VAT.
