Italian actress Ornella Muti was convicted because she lied she is sick, to not participate at theatrical and go to dinner with Vladimir Putin, DPA reported.
Court in Pordenone, in Northeastern Italy, ruled that Muti is guilty of fraud and sentenced her to eight months in prison and a € 600 fine.
Ornella will escape from prison if she paid € 30,000.
In December 2010, she convinced her doctor to issue a fake hospital that she has laryngitis and can not fulfill her role in the theater in Trieste, which she received a fee of € 25,000.
Instead, the actress participated in charity dinner with Putin in St. Petersburg.
