95 are the unprotected beaches along the Black Sea coast and more than half are to the south. Of 57 unguarded beaches in Bourgas, the district administration will seek rescuers for only 5. For the unguarded beaches, the regional governors of Bourgas, Varna and Dobrich will have to pay in common 790,000 Lev granted by the Cabinet.
But the money for hiring rescuers comes too late and the procedures are cumbersome. So most unaccountable coastlines remain without rescuers in the summer despite the repeated promises of the Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova that this year the situation will change.
