Pomorie will soon have its own dog shelter. A terrain in the Honyat region near the city has already been set aside and the investor has submitted documents to RIEW for evaluation on December 27th.
The shelter will be constructed by “San Control – Pomorie”. Back in January 2013 the municipality signed a contract with the firm in order to solve its problem with homeless dogs. The telephones taking signals for homeless animal sightings are 0878 692 980 and 0878 646 480. Currently the only operational shelter is in Poda near Burgas. In accordance with the Animal Protection Act after homeless dogs are caught, they are vaccinated against rabies, castrated, marked and after the necessary recovery period, returned to the place they were originally captured.
