Migrant workers invest in homes

Bulgarian immigrants are among the main players on the property market in 2013, according to data from the “Real Estate Brokers Union”.

Immigrants and foreigners often paid in cash to purchase homes and others resorted to bank credits. Some of the cash buyers acquired the money by selling a property of their own.

Increased buyer activity was noticed toward the end of the summer, since prices had reached equilibrium and banks had achieved high credit activity.

Many Bulgarians working abroad returned to invest in real estate during the summer. Small monolithic homes, old or newly built, with Act 16, 50-60sq.m at a good location are the most preferred.
