64-year-old teacher threw glasses after the pioneering operation performed
in the Eye Department of the Bourgas hospital. She returned her youth vision thanks to a new type of artificial lens that is implanted in Bourgas for the first time. Besides she was rescued and from cataract (senile cataract). The operation is using the "2 in 1" - with one interference solve some eye problem.
In Bulgaria have so far made only a dozen similar operations, because the technology is very new. The interesting thing about this approach is that implanted in young people, the artificial lens prevents the occurrence of cataract.
The manipulation belongs to the so-called day surgery. It is bloodless, painless, performed for 20 minutes with a local anesthetic drip. The patient sees better now, almost no recovery period and on the same day can take his normal activities.
