Bulgaria placed 8-th in a ranking of the top 10 countries to visit in 2014, prepared by the British tourist guidebook publisher Rough Guides, which has a 130 year history.
Our country attracted the publication’s attention with its amazing beaches, mineral water, low prices, cultural and historical sites and friendly people. All of this makes Bulgaria “an intriguing destination” according to the ranking.
They’ve pointed out eight things no one should miss. First is the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, followed by the Rila Monastery, Plovdiv Old Town, Vitosha Natural Park, Koprivshtitsa, the beach bars along the coast, yoghurt and the great variety of birds in nature reserves.
