Turkish companies buy new barley varieties from Karnobat

For two years, the Institute of Agriculture in Karnobat exported basic seed 15 varieties Bulgarian barley to Turkey. “They show great results and superior in quality and yield a number of Turkish varieties,” said the Director of the Institute Dragomir Valchev.

This year the Institute in Karnobat has concluded a licensing agreement with another one Turkish company, which plans to provide the very seed of Bulgarian basic seed in the southern neighbor. “Businesses are quickly orient because of barley demand is extremely high, and its nutritional value is much higher than that of wheat,” said Valchev.

To produce of one kilogram of pigmeat, as technology takes 8 kg of wheat or barley 4 kg, so the barley is the main ingredient in feed.
