The vote for the Old Elm is on

The online voting for 4th annual “European Tree of the Year” contest starts on February 1st 2014.

Trees from 10 countries will compete for the title in 2014 – Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Italy, France, Ireland, Scotland and Welles.

This year our country will be represented in the race by Sliven’s Old Elm, which easily won the national contest “Rooted Tree 2013” with 6097 votes.

The millennial elm-tree is located in the center of the town and throughout the years has become more than a natural attraction for the locals.
