South Stream pipes coming to Burgas and Varna

The first pipes from the South Stream gas pipeline will be delivered to port warehouses in Burgas and Varna during the summer of 2014.

After the pipes are delivered and stored, construction at sea will start during the autumn of 2014.

Maritime.bg reports that the first of the four pipelines should enter exploitation by the end of 2015.

South Stream Transport made a contract with three manufacturers for the delivery of over 75,000 steel pipes for South Stream’s sea sector. The German-based Europipe will provide 50% of the pipes, Russia’s OMK – 35% and the Izhorian pipe manufacturer Severstal, also in Russia – the final 15%.
