Тя бе зам.-кмет на община Бургас в ресорите „Образование, здравеопазване, социални дейности и младежки политики“.
Йорданка Ананиева бе един от най-успешните заместник-кметове в България. Тя бе част от структурата на общинската администрация в Бургас от 2007 г.
